Background
Glenna Wong
Public Relations celebrates its 10 year anniversary in 2003! She is also
the managing director of Rhino Event Marketing, LLC. Previously, Wong
worked as an account executive with Professional Communications, the
public relations company of Starr Seigle McCombs, Inc. for nearly six
years. At that time, she acted as public relations counsel for Ko Olina
Resort/West Beach Estates, Princeville Resort, Pacific Homes/Kemper Real
Estate, Cades Shutte Fleming & Wright, and Paradise Cove Luau.
She has worked
on large-scale promotional events with clients such as The Honolulu
Advertiser's Homebuyers and Designers Fair at the Gentry Pacific
Design Center, the Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza and Christmas
on-site promotions for Ala Moana Center, the Starbucks World Championship
Ka'iwi Channel (Molokai to Oahu) Relay, the Starbucks Challenge at
Ko Olina Resort, the Henry Ayau (previously the Skippy Kamakawiwo'ole)
Men's International Canoe Races, The Players Championship and the
Pepsi Mixed Challenge (beach volleyball). She also executed the grand
openings of Maharaja Restaurant and Discotheque, Restaurant Row,
Ko Olina Resort, Princeville Resort, Taste of Honolulu, and Eagle
Hardware & Garden. Other works include the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra,
MacFarms of Hawaii, and the international Macadamia Nutrition Project,
and David Paul's Diamond Head Grill. She has worked with many real
estate developments -- Gentry Homes master-planned communities,
Wailea Pualani Estates and Wailea Golf Vistas, The Courtyards at
Punahou, Ocean Pointe, Kahala Kua, Executive Centre, Puu Lani Ranch,
Royal Palm at Waipio, and Harbor Court. She has represented several
Parade of Homes winning entries, including WoodBridge, Sonoma, Prescott,
The Carriages, Las Brisas, Tiburon, and Hu'elani by Gentry Homes,
Princess Kahanu Estates, and Kona Vistas.
In the area of
media relations, Wong has gained local, national and international
coverage for her clients. Vehicles have included press conferences
and briefings, press kits and news release services, media consultation
and training. She has developed comprehensive media lists and has
access to print and broadcast reporters and editors in Hawaii and
elsewhere who specialize in real estate development, business, architecture,
special events, agriculture, government, sports, and medical/health.
She has experience
in community relations/public affairs and has conducted numerous
crisis/adversarial communications programs and community special
events, organized and supervised speakers bureaus and orchestrated
large-scale promotions.
Wong's background
includes work as a co-producer for KCBS Radio in San Francisco, various
newsmagazine programs in the Bay Area, and management of a Hawaii-based
motion picture processing and development company. Her specialty
areas include resort and real estate development marketing, on-site
promotional events, sporting events, new product promotions, and
video productions.
Glenna Wong is
a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Hawaii
Chapter, and the Hawaii Association of Broadcasters
(HAB), and an associate
of Hawaii Real Property Research.
