Background

Glenna Wong Public Relations celebrates its 16th anniversary in 2009 I previously worked as an account executive with Professional Communications, the public relations company of Starr Seigle McCombs, Inc. for nearly six years. At that time, I acted as public relations counsel for Ko Olina Resort/West Beach Estates, Princeville Resort, Pacific Homes/Kemper Real Estate, Cades Shutte Fleming & Wright, MacFarms of Hawaii, Ala Moana Center, and Paradise Cove Luau.

I have worked on large-scale promotional events with clients such as The Homebuyers and Designers Fair and the Interior Design Showcase at the Gentry Pacific Design Center, the Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza and Christmas on-site promotions for Ala Moana Center, Starbucks World Championship Ka’iwi Channel (Molokai to Oahu) Relay, and the Steinlager Henry Ayau Men’s International Canoe Race.

I have also executed the grand openings of Restaurant Row, Ko Olina Resort, Princeville Resort, Taste of Honolulu, and Eagle Hardware & Garden. Other works include the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, MacFarms of Hawaii retail and packaging, the international Macadamia Nut Nutrition Project, and the Diamond Head Grill.

I have worked with many real estate developments – Gentry Homes master-planned communities, Wailea Pualani Estates and Wailea Golf Vistas, The Courtyards at Punahou, community planning for Haseko, Kahala Kua, Executive Centre, Puu Lani Ranch, Royal Palm at Waipio, and Harbor Court. I have represented many Parade of Homes winning entries including Cypress Point, Haleakea, Latitudes, WoodBridge, Sonoma, Prescott, The Carriages, Las Brisas, Tiburon, and Hu`elani by Gentry Homes. Other notable real estate projects include Princess Kahanu Estates for Mark Development, Bamboo, a condo-tel in Waikiki, BAYWEST Royal Palm, and Kona Vistas for the BCG Group.

In the area of media relations, I have gained local, national and international coverage for my clients. Vehicles have included press conferences and briefings, press kits and news release services, media consultation and training. I have developed comprehensive media lists and have access to print and broadcast reporters and editors in Hawaii who specialize in real estate development, construction, environment, business, architecture, special events, agriculture, sports, and retail.

I have experience in community relations/public affairs and have conducted numerous crisis/adversarial communications programs and community special events, organized and supervised speakers bureaus and orchestrated large-scale promotions.

My background includes administration, accounting, and production work at KGMB-TV, a co-producer for KCBS Radio in San Francisco, various newsmagazine programs in the Bay Area, and management of a Hawaii-based motion picture processing and development company.
