Glenna Wong Public Relations celebrates its 16th
anniversary in 2009 I previously worked as an account executive with
Professional Communications, the public relations company of Starr
Seigle McCombs, Inc. for nearly six years. At that time, I acted
as public relations counsel for Ko Olina Resort/West Beach Estates,
Princeville Resort, Pacific Homes/Kemper Real Estate, Cades Shutte
Fleming & Wright, MacFarms of Hawaii,
Ala Moana Center, and Paradise Cove Luau.
I have worked on large-scale promotional events
with clients such as The Homebuyers and Designers Fair and the Interior
Design Showcase at the Gentry Pacific Design Center, the Fourth of
July fireworks extravaganza and Christmas on-site promotions for
Ala Moana Center, Starbucks World Championship Ka’iwi Channel (Molokai to Oahu) Relay, and the
Steinlager Henry Ayau Men’s International Canoe Race.
I have also executed the grand openings of Restaurant
Row, Ko Olina Resort, Princeville Resort, Taste of Honolulu, and
Eagle Hardware & Garden.
Other works include the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, MacFarms of Hawaii
retail and packaging, the international Macadamia Nut Nutrition Project,
and the Diamond Head Grill.
I have worked with many real estate developments – Gentry
Homes master-planned communities, Wailea Pualani Estates and Wailea
Golf Vistas, The Courtyards at Punahou, community planning for Haseko,
Kahala Kua, Executive Centre, Puu Lani Ranch, Royal Palm at Waipio,
and Harbor Court. I have represented many Parade of Homes winning
entries including Cypress Point, Haleakea, Latitudes, WoodBridge,
Sonoma, Prescott, The Carriages, Las Brisas, Tiburon, and Hu`elani
by Gentry Homes. Other notable real estate projects include Princess
Kahanu Estates for Mark Development, Bamboo, a condo-tel in Waikiki,
BAYWEST Royal Palm, and Kona Vistas for the BCG Group.
In the area of media relations, I have gained local, national and
international coverage for my clients. Vehicles have included press
conferences and briefings, press kits and news release services, media
consultation and training. I have developed comprehensive media lists
and have access to print and broadcast reporters and editors in Hawaii
who specialize in real estate development, construction, environment,
business, architecture, special events, agriculture, sports, and retail.
I have experience in community relations/public affairs and have conducted
numerous crisis/adversarial communications programs and community special
events, organized and supervised speakers bureaus and orchestrated
large-scale promotions.
My background includes administration, accounting, and production
work at KGMB-TV, a co-producer for KCBS Radio in San Francisco, various
newsmagazine programs in the Bay Area, and management of a Hawaii-based
motion picture processing and development company.
